Have you ever felt things just aren’t working out? You know that feeling when you have a plan or a goal and you are taking all the steps towards it but it doesn’t seem to be getting you any closer to achieving it? It sometimes seems no matter how hard you try you cannot make things happen the way you want them to. It can feel like the whole universe is working against you. We may be looking for a specific outcome and we wonder why it won’t happen. It is really frustrating and sometimes it gets so bad we just want to give up. We might start blaming others, our situation or ourselves for the trouble. This happens to all of us at some point in time. Life is full of challenges big and small. Yet it is how we respond to these challenges that is even more important than the challenges themselves.
Often our perception of our challenges and the thoughts we are having in our head are what is causing the biggest problem for us. We have all been told that if we work hard we can make our dreams come true. We believe if our dreams aren’t manifesting, we need to work that much harder or at least try harder. Yet in reality this is not always how things work. Of course persistence is important but we need to recognize when it is time to take a step back, a break and look at things from a different perspective.
I know first hand how this is. I don’t know how many times I have persisted at a task for way too long before I finally decided to walk away. Often when you walk away and think about things, that is when the problem gets solved and you wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. It is wonderful to have persistence and perseverance. These are useful qualities. Yet efficiency is a great thing also and so surrender in some cases may be the best solution. Sometimes just walking away and doing something completely different, is the best thing you can do to turn things around.
So how do we find the balance between working at something relentlessly to make it happen and actually taking the time to walk away and get a new perspective? Well, we know when we are in our true power it is a beautiful experience. There is a feeling when you are “in the zone” and things seem to fall into place. You almost forget that there is a challenge and you just immerse yourself in the creative process. Rather than willing things to happen, they happen with what we can refer to as divine flow. The flow feels natural and even though the task may be difficult, it is like things work themselves out, regardless. Synchronicities lead you to solutions you are seeking or resources you need. We sometimes fail to recognize that the source of our needs are quite often not born from this material world. The source is from God, Spirit or the Universe, whatever you choose to call it. When we surrender our wants, goals and desires to a Higher Power, then we can start to see miracles unfold.
Willpower alone cannot make the things we want arrive any faster or in the exact form we are wishing for. In fact, sometimes the more we yearn for something to happen our way, the harder things get. This is when we know we are out of balance. We can feel it in our emotions as they will arise as anger, frustration or depression. This is our clue that we need some time to get a better perspective. The universe trying to show you this is not the way. Life and love do not have to be so difficult. So the next time you find yourself climbing the impossible mountain. Take a little break to have a look at the landscape of your challenge from a higher viewpoint. Sit quietly and let the deep knowing in your soul come forward. Let go and let God. It can be so difficult to let go and let things play out the way they are meant to but you will find that when all else fails, relaxing and allowing is much easier and more efficient than resisting. Keep walking and trust with all your heart. Everything is going to be okay.
